About Me

My journey in composition began long before I was even born, with a family history of making and loving music. A mother, grandmother, and great-grandfather who all played the same saxophone; a father and grandfather with the deepest appreciation for heartfelt folk music; a home full of instruments and encouragement to make noise, experiment, and find joy in the process of creation.

Beginning with piano, I worked my way through learning a wide variety of instruments, including viola, guitar, saxophone, and ukulele, before finding a special connection with percussion and marching pageantry. Through high school, into college and beyond, I immersed myself in performing, composing, and teaching percussion. Even now, I’m active in Utah’s marching band scene, specializing in drumline and marching cymbal education.

I was privileged to receive a Bachelor’s in Commercial Music from Brigham Young University after several years of intense study, networking, and creative passion. The process of music production from start to finish has become a deeply fulfilling work for me; from composition and engraving to recording and mixing, I find immense satisfaction in the entire creative enterprise. Years of performing with vastly different ensembles means I’ve developed an ear for a variety of styles and genres, and I’m able to use that experience to give my compositions and arrangements a unique flair among similar works.

When I’m not composing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two cats, painting Warhammer miniatures, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.
